Ausgrabungen Slawenwall Schweriner Schloß
Bei Bauarbeiten im Schweriner Schloß stieß man im Herbst 2014 unerwartet auf eine gut erhaltene bauliche Anlage der Slawen, die durch Dendrochronologie um das Jahr 965 datiert werden kann. Die archäologischen Grabungen legten einen Burgwall frei, der in Ausmaß und Lage nicht hier erwartet wurde. Es sind außerdem die ältesten Zeugnisse menschlicher Besiedlung in der Landeshauptstadt Schwerin.
